Quality Control before Vehicle Delivery
When the cleanliness is completed, the vehicle is brought in the waiting area.
The Quality Controller brings the vehicle from the waiting parking area to the testing area and performs the Quality Control that takes place carrying out:
a. Repair Order check
b. Vehicle testing
c. Documentation Handover to Reception
a. Repair Order check
In this phase the Quality Controller should:
- take the Repair Order from the planning board section dedicated to vehicles to be tested;
- verify the intervention description and the checklists.
b. Vehicle Testing
The Quality Controller:
- verifies that all the interventions requested by the Customer have been performed;
- checks the vehicle status with the support of the “Quality Control checklist”. The usage of this checklist is mandatory.
- verifies if the owner’s settings (radio station, seats, etc.) have been resotored.
Quality control according to the intervention type
- Technician -> Complete Inspection Checklist
- Quality Controller -> Repair Order and Quality Control Checklist
- Quality Controller -> Vehicle Reception Checklist + diagnostic balance + repair range + Repair order and Quality Control Checklist
- Technician -> Complete Inspection Checklist
- Quality Controller -> Repair Order and Quality Control Checklist
- except for work overload, the Quality Controller asks the Technician who worked upstream on the vehicle to apply the fix;
- the patch and root cause are formalized in a sheet to define an action plan if necessary.
c. Documentation Handover to the Reception
If the vehicle-testing outcome is positive and no new intervention are needed, the Workshop Foreman (or the technician in charge of the test) should:
- prepare and collect all the documentation;
- transfer the vehicle from the testing area to the cleaning vehicle area
Quality Controls Animation
The Aftersales Manager has to:
•monitor its quality indicators daily
•Check a few files to ensure that the quality control process is and applied on 100% of vehicle’s repairs
•Verify the folders related to minimum 2 already checked vehicles every week
•animation of workshop returns & reworks by defining action plans with follow-up, allowing elimination of recurrences.
