a. Work Preparation

The Technician should pick up the Repair Order (RO) from the planning board and then:

  • check the RO and supporting documents attached, verifying the presence of specific info (parts pre-picking and availability, repeat repairs, fast lane services…);
  • carry the necessary operational tools to his workstation;
  • activate working time recording procedures and bring the vehicle to workstation;
  • pick up spare parts from baskets located in the Pre-Picking area (if available) or directly from the Parts Personnel; if the spare parts are not available, the Service Advisor should switch the Service Entry status  to “Waiting for parts” and reschedule the intervention.

b. Work Execution

The Technician should record time separately for each intervention listed in the Repair Order and consult both technical documentation and the Complete Inspection Checklist.

c. Work Completion

Once the job execution is completed, the Technician should:

  • update the Repair Order (RO) and note down a short description of the intervention;
  • fill out the “Complete Inspection Checklist” and integrate any additional info for the Service Advisor and/ or Customer;
  • sign off the RO and the Checklist
  • if changed, the owner’s settings (radio station, seats, etc.) should be restored.
  • record the end of the job, using the clocking system;
  • transfer the vehicle from the workstation to a “waiting area” where it will wait for the cleaning;
  • place the RO in the planning board section dedicated to “Repair Orders to be tested”
