Corrosion Warranty
This policy provides terms for corrosion warranty coverage.
The Corrosion warranty coverage is valid starting from Levante and MY17 vehicles and the policy is present into the related warranty booklets.
Maserati offers up to 8 years’ coverage, in case of bodywork* perforation** by rust corrosion.
The first 4 years are the basic coverage valid worldwide.
After the first 4 years the corrosion warranty will be renewable each year up to 4 times at any Maserati Authorized Repairer.
The renewal is allowed on condition that the maintenance of the vehicle was always performed according to the standards, terms and contents provided by Maserati and reported in the maintenance schedule for the vehicle.
Corrosion Warranty Renewal (after the 4th year)
The Maserati Authorized Repairer, in order to concede the renewal, should check the documents that certify the correct maintenance’s execution.
* The term "bodywork" means any outer visible panel or sheet. The term "bodywork" does not include chassis, underbody, wheel arch, road wheels and any attachment such as bright trim, bumpers, mouldings and hinges.
** The term "perforation" means a hole that penetrates through the bodywork caused by corrosion from the inside to the outside as a result of faulty manufacture or faulty materials.
Corrosion Warranty Renewal (after the 4th year)
The Maserati Authorized Repairer, in order to concede the renewal, should check the documents that certify the correct maintenance’s execution.
In case the customer performed the maintenance elsewhere, their corrosion warranty is not subject to refusal, as long as she/he provides the documents as proof.
Moreover, the Repairer should perform a visual check of the vehicle, preferably with the support of the ”Vehicle Health Checklist”, usually used during the Reception phase at Service.
This visual check aims to verify the current conditions of the vehicle’s bodywork and to observe any issues that may have altered/ changed the original quality of the bodywork.
The result of the vehicle's inspection and documents' check should be reported on the warranty booklets, filling out the dedicated pages “Corrosion Warranty Check 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th”. On those pages the Maserati Repairer will certify the corrosion warranty renewal or its refusal, specifying the reasons why.
The vehicle’s inspection will take no longer than the usual reception check and could be performed also during the standard maintenance.
Please, note that no reimbursement will be provided by Maserati for this vehicle’s inspection.
For all the Maserati Network this is a good opportunity to improve the customer retention and Maserati Authorized Repairers should take advantage of the workshop visits for renewals to propose services and products to customers.
