Booking Criteria

  • While booking an appointment it is always important to consider that the restriction is not only the workshop capacity but also the Service Advisor availability, since during the reception it is extremely important to allocate the correct amount of time to receive the Customer
  • Schedule 15 or 30 minutes reception appointments after workshop availability check. It is recommended to plan 3 appointments of 15 minutes per hour or 3 appointments of 30 minutes per 2 hours to absorb the unexpected.

Workshop & Technicians Productivity

  • A way to improve the appointment process is to consider the workshop efficiency while using STD working times for the booking. This will permit you to save time that can be allocated for any additional appointment or for any additional job during the same day (walk-in Customer, upselling, etc.).
  • E.g.1. Efficiency: 110%, STD: 2 hours, Booking Time: 1,8 hours (STD – 10%).
  • E.g.1. Efficiency: 120%, STD: 2 hours, Booking Time: 1,6 hours (STD – 20%).

Technicians skills

  • An additional improvement is to add the technicians' skills to the process and book the appointment taking into consideration their personal skills and capabilities, together with their specific productivity.
  • This system of booking appointments will permit the booking staff to be more accurate in the time allocation and therefore to show a workshop booking closer to reality
