From time to time, MNA may determine that it is in its best interest to assist an owner by replacing or repurchasing a vehicle. This may occur as a result of a decision by the BBB AUTO LINE Arbitration Program or through the settlement of a legal matter. In all cases, repurchased vehicles must be handled in accordance with applicable state lemon law requirements.

A reacquired vehicle (RAV) may be resold to a customer; however, the new owner must be informed that the vehicle is an RAV. The RAV disclosure form is available on the Maserati Dealer Extranet under the Forms section. In addition to MNA requirements, many states have their own disclosure obligations regarding prior vehicle history. Dealers are responsible for complying with all applicable state laws, including disclosure and title branding requirements.

MNA’s disclosure must always be provided to the customer before the vehicle is resold, even if this results in multiple disclosures being issued.

The Reacquired Vehicle Warranty begins on the date the vehicle is sold to the subsequent customer. Coverage is valid for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first. In California, the RAV Warranty provides 12 months of coverage with unlimited mileage.

The Reacquired Vehicle (RAV) Warranty does not alter or extend the limits of the New Vehicle Warranty. When applicable, the New Vehicle Warranty takes precedence over the RAV Warranty.

Listed below are the three possible scenarios for determining warranty coverage on a reacquired vehicle (RAV):

• Vehicles outside the New Vehicle Warranty period will receive the full 12 months/12,000 miles RAV Warranty coverage. Additional coverage details are outlined below.

• Vehicles with less than 12 months/12,000 miles remaining under the New Vehicle Warranty will receive supplemental coverage through the RAV Warranty.
  Example: An RAV vehicle that is 42 months old with 30,000 miles remains covered under the 4 years/50,000 miles New Vehicle Warranty. The RAV Warranty would then provide an additional 6 months of coverage, with total mileage coverage not exceeding 62,000 miles.

• Vehicles with more than 12 months/12,000 miles remaining under the New Vehicle Warranty do not require an RAV Warranty, as they remain covered for the balance of the original New Vehicle Warranty period.

The Reacquired Vehicle (RAV) Warranty provides the same coverage as the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Refer to Section 2 – New Vehicle Limited Warranty for additional details.
