Activation
When new vehicles are delivered to the customer (the final user of the vehicle) the factory warranty must be activated.
This is done in the Sales section of ModisCS+, by changing the vehicle’s status and completing the marketing card with the customer data.
Once this action has been confirmed, the warranty is activated. A label with the warranty activation details must then be printed from ModisCS+, using adhesive paper, and put into the customer’s Warranty Card (warranty booklet).
The date printed on this ticket is the legal warranty activation date.
Moreover, the vehicle “Date of start of warranty” command must be performed with the Maserati diagnostic tool, using an Active diagnosis command in the instrument cluster (NQS or IPC).
When programming the warranty start date value into the instrument cluster through the use of the diagnostic tool, the warranty start date should be set to the date the vehicle is retailed and delivered to the customer or the date the vehicle is placed into demonstrator service. This will ensure correct alignment of the vehicle’s warranty start date to the service maintenance schedule. Refer to the latest Technical Information Bulletin for more information.
Dealers are responsible for entering correct date / mileage into the new instrument cluster. Dealers may be responsible for incorrect information resulting in a faulty cluster.
For detailed information see the “How to fill in the Warranty Agreement” procedure.
