Reconditioning of Used Vehicles
Non-Dealer owned off-lease vehicles: The Lease Company must be listed as the current owner and the dealer needs to update
the information in Modis as well. If the dealer does not purchase the vehicle directly from the leasing company then the dealer
should;
• Check for open recalls and campaigns prior to sending the vehicle to auction.
• If it is found that these vehicle need normal maintenance services (i.e. tires, brakes, annual service, etc.) then an estimate should be provided to the leasing company for their approval.
• If a mechanical or safety concern is found, please open a BOL under the current guidelines for guidance and/or approval.
• Updating Modis with the correct owner information.
Dealer owned off-lease or used cars: Dealer purchased vehicles from the Leasing Companies or used cars owned by the dealer may undergo a technical inspection as part of the Maserati certified Pre-Owned Program and/or for dealer stock. Repairs related to defects in workmanship and materials can be covered during the New Vehicle Warranty Period, provided they meet the following requirements:
• The dealership must be listed as the owner of the vehicle on the repair order
• All related repairs orders must be filed in the vehicle service file
• All line on the repair require prior authorization by the service manager
• The repair order and invoice must be signed by the service manager/director
• A technical inspection, as part of preparing a used vehicle for sale, is not intended to enhance the vehicle’s resale value
• Repairs that cannot be claimed under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty period on an in-stock vehicle include but are not limited to:
• Worn interior trim panels (seat leather, door panels, buttons/knobs)
• Scheduled maintenance
• Components that are missing from the vehicle
• Wear components (brakes, tires, hoses, belts, etc.)
• Battery maintenance
• Battery replacement necessitated from the lack of use
