Blue Online (Pre-Authorization)

Blue On Line (BOL) is an interactive web-based reporting system. It allows authorized Maserati dealers, MNA, and Maserati SpA to communicate authorization requests, and technical subjects/issues. In many cases, the information supplied via a BOL report leads to actual quality improvements on the assembly line. It is imperative that all technicians become familiar with this site and understand the importance of this tool.

Before submitting a Blue On Line report, the vehicle must be in the workshop. Warranty claims not meeting this condition are subject to debit. BOL reports must be opened and managed by the Service Manager, Shop Foreman, or a Maserati Certified Master Technician.

The reports must include the following information to allow Maserati staff to manage them in the shortest time and provide the best service possible:

  • Detailed description of the issue and its conditions
  • Description of the first level diagnosis, any tests and inspections performed
  • Attach photographs, videos, errors, parameters, and acquisition files

The attached file format must be JPG, JPEG, MOV, AVI, WMV, MP4, MPG, MPEG, TXT, DOC, XLS, PPT, or PDF

Blue On Line reports are handled through three different types of requests:

  • Support Request (handled by MNA Technical Support)
  • Request for Authorization (handled by MNA Regional Aftersales Manager (RAM) and Warranty team
  • For Factory Information (handled by MNA Technical Support)

Only one BOL request is required per incident. For example, if a Support Request has been submitted, a Request for Authorization is not required for the same incident.

A Blue On Line report does not need to be entered in the following cases:

  • For a known issue that does not fall within the definitions for each type of request listed below
  • A fault corrected with a previous campaign, bulletin, tech tips, etc.
  • When it is clearly specified in another communication
